The Kern Oil & Gas Awards 2025 will honor various achievements in the oil and gas industry. These categories highlight the diverse facets to the sector and recognize contributions and advancements in the industry - including operational excellence, health and safety, corporate social responsibility, energy transition, impactful projects, leadership, digital tech advancements, drilling excellence, contributions from oilfield services companies, and engineering innovations. All award categories should reflect work/achievements within the past two years. Here are the major categories:
CEO/General Manager/COO of the Year
Upstream and Service Combined: Awarded to an individual that demonstrated the most significant management actions that made a measurable impact within his or her company.
Excellence in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality
Upstream and Service Combined: Awarded to the company with the most measured and innovative processes that resulted in the reduction of workplace accidents, environmental impacts, and improved quality of service/production.
Technical Consulting Company of the Year
Awarded to the firm that provides the most comprehensive package of technical services to the oil and gas industry. Consideration will also be placed on regulatory and project-based accomplishments that are significant or have a large impact.
Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility
Awarded to the company that higlights the commitment to ethical practices and sustainable initiatives within the industry.
Gene Voiland Lifetime Achievement Award
Awarded to someone retiring from the oil and gas industry who has had an influential role in the industry both locally and nationally.
Oil & Gas Entrepreneur(s) of the Year
Awarded to an individual that has created a unique product that has made a major impact on our industry or a growth story that is remarkable.
Oil and Gas Well Service Company of the Year
• Pumping Unit Services (Sub-Category)
Awarded to the company that provides the most diverse and quality of downhole service to its customers at the field level.
Shannon Grove Policy Activist of the Year Award
Granted to the individual, politician, or trade association that has made a meaningful impact on oil and gas policy in California in the previous year.
Oil Logistics Company of the Year
Applies to crude oil trucking companies, pipeline companies, transporting hazardous waste (environmental companies) and vacuum truck companies.
Fred & Barbara Holmes Unsung Hero of the Year
Outstanding family or Individual that donates time and resources to industry events and supports the communities around them.
E&P Company of the Year
Demonstrates innovation, growth, environmental and regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and community involvement that makes an impact. Should be relevant to the size of the company as a whole.
Robin Brassfield Cooper Woman of the Year in Oil & Gas
Individual who demonstrates leadership and/or support of the Industry and it’s community.
